Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in specific - led to him falling of the top ten and finally separating with long-term trainer Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from that period of 2023.

Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one various events.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to win a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in that event in the past months.

His counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on court had led some to doubt if his ability to compete at the highest level was finished.

But the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an better serve.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his first tour victory, took control to force a final set.

The opponent defended four initial chances in a close third set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Suitably, Medvedev secured the title with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
